Monday night Raw will be certain to create new wrestling memories while reliving many and celebrating one of the most recognizable figures in pro wrestling history and 80's pop culture icon: Hulk Hogan. It's the Hulkster's birthday and wwe is preparing a special event in honor of the immortal leader of Hulkamania. Hogan is the reason many fans attached themselves to the "sport" and learned a moral code of vitamins, prayers and believing in themselves. When you reminisce about the real american and the rock and wrestling era one thing becomes very clear; wrestling is not what it used to be.
We are now in the age of no real "good guys" or "bad guys" but instead shades of gray that cover the whole gray scale spectrum. Characters so layered and complex that wrestling is no longer an escape but sometimes a chore to watch. It appears as though wrestling will only be getting more complicated and convoluted week by week. Or is it?
SummerSlam is on Sunday and the main event involves a white bread moral fueled babyface taking on a ruthless monster out for destruction, a grudge match based simply on turning on a close partner and a cold war-esque flag match. Maybe what's old is new again! Then again there is female fight of authority versus oppressed and real world "star" the Miz. But, perhaps, we are on the right track to a great mix of old and new styles that speak to all fans and create another hot period for our favorite form of entertainment. And if that happens the only question will be... Whatcha gonna do? But that's just this marks remarks!
